Is all your work
custom?
Yes; can’t do it any other way. Each
piece is made from the bottom up using pictures of your
dog for color, markings, ear set, eye color, etc. It’s
the only way that you can get your dog in any of the designs
that you see on the entire site. Can’t do that with
molds.
What material is
the jewelry made from?
All the jewelry is made from solid-color
polymer clays. Like anything you can buy, there are different
brands which differ in cost and quality, which usually
go hand-in-hand. I use only top of the line polymer clays
that professional doll makers use; costs more, but the
difference is significant.
What do you mean
by, “lightweight and durable”?
Exactly that, and colorfast too! Pins are
surprisingly lightweight and tend not to drag your blouse
down like other heavier pieces. The earrings are amazingly
featherweight; you won’t even know they’re
there.
As far as durability, I’ve had so
many people come back to me and tell me how many times
they ran their pin through the washing machine without
incident. The polymer clays I use are very tough stuff
and oftentimes, I embed wire within a piece for extra
structural support. Of course, any piece of jewelry can
break if abused and accidents can happen. Take proper
care of your jewelry and it will last a lifetime.
What size are the
pins and earrings?
Pins are approx 1 3/4” - 2 1/4”
tall, depending on the design. Head earrings are approx
3/4” and pendants run around 1” tall. Necklace
lengths are per your instruction.
Are the findings
of good quality?
We use only the best findings available.
The earring wires are 14K gold-filled or surgical steel
(silver), each specified as hypo-allergenic. The eye pins
are 14K gold-filled and the bar pins, used to fasten the
pins to your clothing, are top of the line. They lock
securely and will not snag your clothing like cheaper
bar pins.
How do I send pictures
of my dog?
Email pictures to me in JPEG format. I
need a good profile shot of the left side of the dog along
with a frontal head shot. Make sure the pics are clear
and represent the proper color of the dog as this is what
I will use as a reference to match your dog’s colors.
You can also send regular pics through the mail, no larger
than 4x6. We send all pictures back to you with your order.
Will my jewelry
look exactly like my dog?
My style is a mixture of realism and caricature
with a touch of whimsy. I will follow the colors and markings
of your dog, along with other basic aspects that identify
your dog, from the photos that you provide. When you get
your jewelry, you will know that it is your dog, sitting
there on your clothing or hanging from your ears.
A typical email I receive after someone
receives their order, as Karen M. from Pittsburgh, PA
writes:
When will I receive
my order?
Depending on the time of year, it takes
between 2-6 weeks to receive your order. If you need your
order for a special occasion, such as a birthday or for
a show, I will do my best to get it to you when you need
it at no extra charge, except to possibly upgrade the
shipping to get it to you faster.
Do you have a guarantee
policy?
Yes. Your happiness is my number one priority.
In the past 16 years, after thousands of custom orders,
there have been rare occasions where I have had to remake
a piece for one reason or another and have always ended
up with a happy customer. Everyone is my best customer!
